If you need health advice or need to see a Nurse or Doctor urgently outside office hours (6.30pm to 8.00am) please call 111.

Test Results
Please phone the surgery after 11.00am 7 days after your tests. To safeguard your confidentiality you will be asked a number of questions to confirm your identity

Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone us to enable us to offer this appointment to someone else.  

New Extended Opening Hours

We are pleased to announce that we have extended our opening hours and offer extra evening routine appointments on a Monday and Thursday up to 7pm. We also run a Saturday morning clinic twice a month for booked routine appointments.

Have you recently registered at the Practice and require a prescription?

pill_bottleBefore we can issue you any prescriptions you will require an appointment with one of the doctors. They will go over your past and current medical history and treatments, record your medications and any allergies, organise any indicated tests and update your medical record. The doctor can then arrange to set up a regular repeat prescription for you.

What is a Repeat Prescription?

Some patients and conditions require long term medications over many months or years. In common with all NHS practice The Cedar Brook Practice has set up a system for patients to request and receive regular prescriptions for their required and authorised medications. Such prescriptions are called repeat prescriptions.

Requesting a Repeat Prescription

Options:-

  • Complete the counterfoil attached to your last prescription and place in the letterbox located at the front entrance of the surgery.
  • Send your request by post - please enclose a S.A.E. if you do not wish to collect this from the surgery.
  • By e-mail - please click on link at top of page.
  • By fax to 020 8842 4401.

In common with the majority of surgeries we do not accept requests for repeat medication by telephone.

Collecting a Repeat Prescription

You can arrange for your repeat prescription to be collected by one of our local pharmacies to save you another trip to the surgery. You can also if you wish nominate a pharmacy where your prescriptions can be sent electronically.  You can enquire at your local pharmacy for this service or speak to one of our receptionists. Please allow 48 hours (or two working days) BEFORE collection. We can post your prescription to you if you provide us with a stamped, addressed envelope.

Annual reviews of patients receiving repeat prescriptions

All patients receiving repeat prescriptions are asked to attend an annual appointment with a Nurse or Doctor to review their condition and medication and to conduct appropriate monitoring tests. This is recommended good practice in the NHS. Your repeat prescription counterfoil will contain messages advising you to arrange an appointment for such a medication review as you approach your annual review date.

Medications that are not issued as repeat prescriptions

It is recommended practice not to issue certain types of medication as repeat prescriptions. Therefore you may be asked to consult with a Nurse or Doctor for each issue. Examples include many anti-depressants, drugs of potential abuse or where the prescribing is subject to legal or clinical restrictions or special criteria.
